Prof. Ou is Dean of the Research, Development, and Innovation Center at Tungs' Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital in Taiwan. He has concurrently held the presidency of the Asian Robotic Urological Society, Taiwan Innovative Medical Association, and Urological Cancer Care Association of the Republic of China since 2019.
As Professor of Urology at National Chi-Nan University, National Chung-Hsing University, and Chung Shan Medical University, Prof. Ou combines academic excellence with clinical expertise. He obtained his M.D. from the National Defense Medical Center (1986), completed surgical training at Taichung Veterans General Hospital (1986-1991), earned his Ph.D. from Chung Shan Medical University (2004), and recently completed an EMBA at National Taiwan University (2024).
His research centers on renal cell carcinoma signal transduction, precision medicine in urologic oncology, and translational research. His career highlights include founding the Prostate Disease Center (2005) and establishing the Taiwan Urological Cancer Association (2008).
A robotic surgery pioneer who trained from global experts, including Dr. Vipul Patel, Dr. Ashutosh Tewari, and Dr. Peter Wiklund, Prof. Ou has performed over 3,600 robotic urological procedures and was Taiwan's first Hugo RAS surgeon and proctor.
His achievements have earned him prestigious recognitions, including the Global Best Paper Award from the British Journal of Urology International (2012), the Asian Journal of Andrology Outstanding Paper Award (2016), and multiple da Vinci Distinguished Robotic Surgeon Awards.
With over 300 peer-reviewed publications, Prof. Ou continues to advance urological oncology as a clinician, researcher, and educator.
