Dr. Mei-Nan Liao has been serving as President of the Taiwan Nurses Association (TWNA) since 2024, with her tenure lasting until 2027. She also leads the Center for Excellence (CE) and Taiwan Nurses Credentialing Center (TNCC) in TWNA. In the CE, she oversees three groups: Leadership Training, Knowledge Translation, and Research Innovation & Policy. In the TNCC, she supervises the Certification and Training groups. Before her presidency, Dr. Liao held various leadership roles at TWNA, including Standing Director, Vice President, and Chairperson of the Board of Controllers.
Dr. Mei-Nan Liao earned her PhD degree from Taipei Medical University in Taiwan. Currently, she is the Vice Chief Executive Officer of the Administration Center of Chang Gung Memorial Foundation and a Chair Professor at Chang Gung University of Science and Technology. Chang Gung Memorial Hospital is one of Taiwan's top-ranked hospitals. Dr. Liao’s research interests and expertise are in cancer nursing and psycho-oncology. She had also served as the President of the Taiwan Oncology Nursing Society.
Dr. Mei-Nan Liao has long been dedicated to developing national and organizational health and nursing policies related to education and practice. In recognition of her outstanding efforts, she was appointed as National Policy Advisor to the President of Taiwan in August 2024.
