Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been practiced for thousands of years and is widely accepted as an alternative treatment for cancer at the present time. The treatments include Chinese herbal medicine and non-pharmaceutical interventions such as acupuncture, massage, moxibustion, and other acupoint applications. Numerous studies have indicated that the combination of TCM with radiotherapy, other drugs or chemotherapy can enhance the survival rates of cancer patients, improve their quality of life, and stop the growth and spread of cancerous cells. It also can improve cancer patients with co-morbid depressive symptoms and decreases the side effect of radiotherapy , chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy.
