Dr. Po-Yen Chen is a board-certified urologist who graduated from Kaohsiung Medical University in 2013. He completed his urology residency training at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital from 2014 to 2020, where he also began his career as an attending physician in 2020.
Dr. Chen specializes in reconstructive urology and robotic-assisted surgery, with a focus on gender-affirming procedures. In 2023–2024, he further advanced his training at the Department of Urology, NYU Langone Hospital, gaining extensive experience in transgender and urologic reconstructive surgery.
In 2024, he performed Asia’s first robotic-assisted peritoneal vaginoplasty, marking a milestone in transgender surgical care in the region. Dr. Chen currently serves as the Director of the Taiwan Association of Transgender Medicine, actively contributing to the development of inclusive and evidence-based transgender healthcare in Asia.
