Shin Egawa

Shin Egawa is Professor of Department of Academia-industrial Alliance at The Jikei University School of Medicine, Tokyo, where he served as the 6th Professor and Chairman of Department of Urology from 2004-2022. His main fields of interest are urologic oncology, the study of exosomes, microRNAs in prostate cancer and other urological malignancies. He is currently the Secretary General Elect of the Urological Association of Asia. He has been active in promoting international collaboration in urologic education and research, and received the AUA Secretary Commendation Global Leadership Award in 2017. In addition, he was appointed an honorary member of the European Association of Urology. He was made a member of the Association of Academic European Urologists in 2022 in recognition of his professional accomplishments. He became an honorary member of JUA in 2023 and an honorary member of JSUO in 2024.
