Prof. Gang Zhu’s clinical interest is mainly focused on Urological Oncology and minimally invasive surgery. Prof. Zhu is highly specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of urological cancers, especially cancers of the prostate, kidneys, bladder, testicular cancer, adrenal gland tumor et al. His expertise also includes minimally invasive surgeries such as robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery, single-port laparoscopic surgery, and endoscopic surgery. The minimally invasive surgeries that Prof. Zhu performs include radical prostatectomy, radical cystectomy, nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, adrenalectomy, et al. He has performed the first Urolift procedure in China in 2022. He also performs endoscopic surgeries include transurethral enucleation of the prostate, excision of bladder tumors, and ureteroscopic lithotripsy for the kidneys or ureteral calculi. Prof. Zhu is a pioneer for laparoscopic and da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery in China. He is one of the da Vinci Robotic Urological surgeons with many uro-oncological indications in China. He had achieved robotic retroperitoneal lymph node dissection with concomitant inferior vena cava thrombectomy for metastatic mixed testicular germ cell cancer in 2018. He had finished the laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS) radical prostatectomy, radical nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, adrenalectomy, et al. From 2017, he had worked in development and application of the Holographic Imaging in pre-surgery plan and navigation in laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery.
