Maxine is Professor of Urology at University College London. Maxine graduated from medical school at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 1999, and completed her basic surgical training in London. She was then awarded an MRC clinical training fellowship for her PhD studies at Imperial College London before her specialist urology training as a NIHR clinical lecturer at Cambridge University Hospitals. Both her clinical and academic research interests are focused on improving the understanding, diagnosis and treatment outcomes in kidney cancer. Maxine’s surgical interest is in minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robot-assisted) and complex open kidney surgery, and is a committee member for the NICE and European Association of Urology guidelines for Kidney Cancer.
