Shigeo Horie, M.D., Ph.D., is a urologist and professor based in Japan.
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tokyo in 1985. After completing his residency in urology at the University of Tokyo Hospital, he earned ECFMG certification for medical licensure. He then pursued both research and clinical fellowships in nephrology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Horie has held academic and clinical positions at the University of Tokyo, the National Cancer Center Hospital, the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, and Kyorin University. His research background spans physiology, genetic diseases, molecular biology, and oncology.
In 2003, he was appointed Professor and Chairman of the Department of Urology at Teikyo University in Tokyo. In 2012, he assumed the same roles at Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine. He also holds endowed chairs in Data Science and Informatics for Genetic Disorders and in Innovative Longevity.
Dr. Horie currently serves as President of the Japanese Society for Men's Health and President of the Japanese Longevity Consortium.
