Azimjon Tursunkulov

Dr. Azimdjon Nazirjonovich Tursunkulov, PhD, is a passionate urologist-endourologist and the current CEO of AKFA Medline University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. After graduating from the Tashkent Medical Academy, he completed his residency in urology at the Tashkent Institute for Postgraduate Medical Education. Driven by a deep interest in minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Tursunkulov pursued advanced training at leading medical centers in South Korea, Germany, Italy, and the United States— most notably under the mentorship of the legendary Dr. Arthur Smith at the Smith Institute for Urology. His clinical focus includes endourology, urogynecology, and onco-urology. In 2020, he earned his PhD and went on to introduce Supine PCNL and ECIRS techniques to Uzbekistan-pioneering new standards in stone disease management. Dr. Tursunkulov's work extends far beyond the operating room. He is a sought-after speaker and educator, having performed live surgeries and delivered talks at major urology congresses in Egypt, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and South Korea. In 2024, he was internationally elected to the EAU Endourology Working Group and continues to contribute to global research on HOLEP, ERBT, and FANS. As CEO since 2023, he helped transform AKFA Medline into a university-affiliated teaching hospital and founded a modern urology residency program to train the next generation of specialists. In 2025, he led the successful launch of the first Central Asian Endourology Congress (CAEC), which brought together international experts for collaborative learning, live surgical demonstrations, and the exchange of ideas-cementing the region's growing role in global urology.
