My name is Yoshitaka Kurano. I graduated from Kochi University School of Medicine in 2019 and currently serve as an Assistant Professor and Advanced Medical Research Fellow in the Department of Urology at Kochi University Hospital, Japan.
My primary clinical and academic focus is on lower urinary tract dysfunction, particularly benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). I have been deeply involved in the research and advancement of surgical treatments for BPH, with a specific concentration on Contact Laser Vaporization of the Prostate (CVP). My recent work has centered on optimizing CVP techniques, evaluating clinical outcomes with Pressure Flow Study, and improving perioperative safety and efficacy. In recognition of these contributions, I was honored with the CVP Forum Academic Award in 2024.
