Christopher Netsch

Dr. Christopher Netsch was born in Frankfurt and raised in Germany. He studied medicine at the Universities of Mainz (DE) and Bern (CH). He graduated from the University of Mainz in 2005 and finished his doctoral thesis in 2006. His training in urology was conducted at the Inselspital Bern (under Prof. Studer), Städtisches Klinikum Karlsruhe (DE) (under Prof. Frohneberg) and the Asklepios Hospital Hamburg Barmbek (DE) (under Prof. Gross). After his board certification in 2011, Dr. Netsch became a staff member at the Department of Urology of the Asklepios Hospital Hamburg Barmbek. Here, he also attended a 24-month fellowship on Endourology (Fellow in Endourology, Endourological Society). He was qualified as a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) in 2015. Dr. Netsch finished his habilitation thesis at Semmelweis University, Budapest (HU) in 2017. Dr. Netsch is a member of the German Working Group in Endourology and the EAU section of Uro-Technology (ESUT) and a reviewer for numerous journals such as Urology, the British Journal of Urology International, the Journal of Endourology and the World Journal of Urology. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the World Journal of Urology. Dr. Christopher Netsch published over 140 PubMed listed, peer-reviewed journal articles, numerous book articles, published numerous abstracts, and hold lectures on national/international congresses. He was awarded with several awards both nationally and internationally such as the Wolfgang Mauermayer and the Winfried Vahlensieck award of the German Society of Urology and the Hans Marberger award of the European Association of Urology. His scientific and clinical interests in urology are endourological topics: stone disease and minimally-invasive therapies for BPH.
