Poh Choo Toh

Ms Toh Poh Choo is a Senior Nurse Clinician at the Urology and Colorectal Centre, National University Hospital (NUH), with 30 years of dedicated clinical experience. Renowned for her unwavering commitment to patient care, she plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the Centre, ensuring that patients receive safe, high-quality, and evidence-based care. A strong advocate for nursing excellence, Ms Toh leads the clinical development of her nursing team, keeping them abreast of the latest advancements in urological care. She has been instrumental in pioneering several key initiatives, including the introduction of Minimally Invasive Surgical Treatment (MIST) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and MRI Fusion Targeted Prostate Biopsy in an outpatient setting. Her expertise is widely recognized, earning her invitations across the region to share her insights on urology nursing. Beyond her clinical work, Ms Toh holds several prominent leadership positions. She currently serves as the Vice-President of the Society for Continence Singapore and is the founding Chairperson and current Secretary General of the Asian Urological Nursing Association. Through these roles, she actively champions the development and promotion of urological nursing education across Asia. In recognition of her exceptional service and dedication, Ms Toh was awarded the prestigious Efficiency Medal during Singapore’s 2022 National Day Awards. In 2023, she was also honored with the COVID-19 Resilience Medal for her courageous and selfless contributions on the frontline during the pandemic. Ms Toh’s enduring passion, leadership, and tireless contributions continue to elevate the standards of urological nursing both locally and across the region.
