Abstract Content
Introduction
With exophytic type renal tumor or patients with complex renal hilum vasculature, roboticㄦassisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (RaLPN) without hilum dissection may be a viable surgical option to avoid prolonged surgery time and renal ischemic time.
Materials and Methods
A 32-year-old woman with well-controlled congenital hypothyroidism. Left renal tumor was accidentally noticed on the renal echo diagnosing the left flank pain. MRi showed a 3.2 left renal upper pole tumor with features similar to clear cell renal cell carcinoma. No obvious metastasis was noticed. RaLPN was agreed.
Results
The pathology revealed a margin free, 3.2 cm pT1a chromophobe renal cell carcinoma. The console time was 48mins and the surgery time was 108mins. Estimated blood loss was 100ml. No major complication happened within three months after the surgery. The patient's renal function remained stable within 3 months .
Conclusions
With exophytic type renal tumor or patients with complex renal hilum vasculature, robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (RaLPN) without hilum dissection may be a viable surgical option to avoid prolong surgery time and renal ischemic time.
