Abstract Content
Introduction
Private pilot license (PPL) is a license that authorises you to fly private planes but the licensed pilot cannot be employed to work as a pilot. However, PPL is still one of the most difficult license for every pilot's career.
Materials and Methods
Balancing a demanding medical career as a licensed urologist with the pursuit of a lifelong passion for aviation has been an extraordinary journey. In this talk, I will share my personal experience of earning a Private Pilot License (PPL), from the initial inspiration to the rewarding moment of solo flight.
Results
The presentation will outline the key steps in obtaining a PPL, including the theoretical groundwork, practical flight training, and mastering aeronautical decision-making. I will also discuss the challenges of balancing a busy professional life with the time and dedication required for aviation training. Furthermore, I will reflect on how the skills and mindset cultivated as a urologist—such as precision, situational awareness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure—proved invaluable in my aviation training. Finally, I will highlight how achieving the PPL has enriched my life, providing not only a new perspective from the skies but also a renewed appreciation for goal-setting and personal growth.
Conclusions
This talk aims to inspire others, particularly professionals with demanding careers, to pursue their passions and demonstrate that with determination and effective time management, it is possible to achieve even the loftiest of dreams.
