Abstract Content
Introduction
This project aims to study the impact of 12-point protein folding on bend correction by analyzing clinical data from patients, comparing key outcomes such as postoperative erection length, sexual satisfaction, and bend angle through a multicenter cohort design. It focuses on how bending angles (30° and 60°) interact with age, preoperative bend direction, and weakness length. A predictive model will be created based on patient-reported outcomes.
Materials and Methods
A retrospective study of 60 patients with 30-60 degree curvature deformity who underwent surgery between January 2018 and December 2024 at Peking University Shenzhen Hospital and Shenzhen University General Hospital divided them into two groups based on treatment outcomes: the corrected group (n=44) with postoperative curvature ≤5° and the non-straightener group (n=16) with curvature >5°. Univariate analysis was conducted using T-test and Chi-square test, and significant indicators (P<0.05) were further analyzed using binary logistic regression. Multivariate analysis focused on statistical and clinical significance (P<0.05), and ROC tests assessed the model's accuracy and the interaction of factors influencing curvature correction.
Results
Age-stratified analysis showed that the correction success rate of patients ≤35 years old (90.91%) was significantly higher than that of the ≥35 years old group (50.00%) (P=0.002), suggesting that age is a key predictor of postoperative outcome. Postoperative penile erection length was significantly correlated with the degree of correction (Pearson correlation coefficient 0.736, P=0.026), suggesting that the better the correction, the more significant the improvement in postoperative erection length. The duration of surgery was significantly shorter in the straight extension group than in the non-straight extension group (73.30 min vs 97.50 min, P=0.024). Both groups of patients showed positive effects on preoperative erectile function, sexual satisfaction and sexual partner satisfaction after surgery, which confirmed the good effect of 12-point folding of penile membrane.
Conclusions
Early surgery for curvature in young patients leads to better correction results, while complex cases with short penis and ventral curvature require longer surgery and more technical support for optimal outcomes. The 12-point penile tunica albuginea plication surgery can improve patients' penile curvature, erectile function, sexual satisfaction, and partner satisfaction.
