OBJECTIVE: An increasing number of men with healthy and normal penises want to enlarge their penis. Therefore, this review evaluated the mental health status of men who complained of a small penis and examined the state of nonsurgical and surgical treatments for male patients seeking penile enlargement, along with a risk assessment for each and review each method's successes and complications.

METHODS: A comprehensive review of publications on this topic was conducted via PubMed. Key search terms included: penis, corpus penis, glans, enhancement, enlargement, thickening, and girth.

RESULTS: A variety of medical, traction, injection and surgical modalities have been investigated for penile augmentation, with a range of 0-4.9 cm.

CONCLUSION: A variety of penile enlargement techniques have been investigated. There is a lack of clinical guidelines and a lack of investigation into the complications and causes of failure for each technique. However, the development of new products and surgical techniques, such as Penuma, and tissue engineeringmay yield fewer complications, good operative effects, shorter operative times, and high patient satisfaction, bringing hope to patients interested in penile enlargement.
