Abstract Content
Introduction
Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma(IVLBCL) is a rare subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma with extremely low incidence rate. Common sites of IVLBCL involvement including skin, nervous system, liver, spleen, and bone marrow, prostate was not included.
Materials and Methods
A 68-year-old male presented with lower urinary tract symptoms underwent laser prostatectomy. Further pathology report showed Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma.
Results
IVLBCL is mainly presented with nonspecific symptoms, causing challenges in making an early diagnosis. Sending the prostate tissue for pathological examination postoperatively would potentially contribute to an earlier diagnosis and making a better prognosis with early treatment.
Conclusions
Regularly sending prostatic tissue for pathological examination after surgery for prostate hyperplasia is worth discussing, as it could help in the early diagnosis of lymphoma or other malignancy.
