Abstract Content
Introduction
Male infertility is one of the major problems affecting human reproduction and it is also one of the most common diseases in reproductive andrology. The incidence of male infertility is increasing year by year. This study retrospectively analyzed the data of patients with idiopathic oligoasthenospermia treated effectively in Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and excavated the core prescriptions of clinical Chinese medicine for the treatment of idiopathic oligoasthenospermia.
Materials and Methods
The data of patients with idiopathic oligoasthenospermia in Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2014 to December 2023 were extracted and retrospectively analyzed. Single factor, multivariate Logistic regression, multivariate analysis of variance, paired test and other methods were used to analyze the difference between the total sperm count, sperm concentration, normal sperm morphology rate and sperm forward movement rate of patients with idiopathic oligoasthenospermia during the treatment period.
Results
According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 586 patients with idiopathic oligoasthenospermia were included in this study. After screening and data deduplication, 158 patients with idiopathic oligoasthenospermia were finally included of which 309 Chinese herbal medicines were used in total. Through paired rank sum test analysis, it was found that seven traditional Chinese medicines, such as dodder, wolfberry, raspberry, plantain, schisandra, angelica and atractylodes, could significantly increase the total number of sperm in patients. Plantain seed, centipede, schisandra, astragalus, beehive, codonopsis, angelica, atractylodes, tangerine peel nine traditional Chinese medicine can significantly provide the patient 's sperm concentration. Plantain seed and Poria cocos can significantly improve the forward movement sperm rate of patients. Plantago and centipede can significantly reduce the rate of abnormal sperm in patients. Among them, there was no significant difference in the statistics of each single index in patients who did not take the above single drug. Multivariate variance MANOVA statistical analysis showed that the combination of dodder, medlar, raspberry, plantain seed and schisandra chinensis, the main components of the classical prescription "Wuzi Yanzong Pill" which had statistical significance on semen routine and sperm morphology rate.
Conclusions
The classic prescription "Wuzi Yanzong Pill" can effectively improve idiopathic oligoasthenospermia. Clinically, Angelica sinensis, Atractylodes macrocephala, Poria cocos and centipede can be added and subtracted according to the symptoms.
