Abstract Content
Introduction
To investigate the disease acceptance and perception status of maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients, clarify the correlation between understanding social support, disease perception, dialysis symptom index (symptom group) and disease acceptance, and analyze the influencing factors of MHD patients' disease acceptance, providing theoretical reference for subsequent clinical medical staff to develop intervention plans and management strategies.
Materials and Methods
A cross-sectional study was conducted on 328 hemodialysis patients who received maintenance treatment in our hospital's blood purification department from October 2022 to September 2024. Conduct a questionnaire survey on patients using general information questionnaires, disease acceptance scales, simplified disease perception questionnaires, perceived social support scales, and dialysis symptom index scales.
Results
A total of 328 MHD patients were included in this study, with a total disease acceptance score of 19.00 (16.00, 28.00) points, which is at a low acceptance level. Correlation analysis showed a negative correlation between patient disease acceptance and disease perception (r=-0.889, P<0.01); The patient's acceptance of the disease is positively correlated with their level of perceived social support (r=0.790, P<0.01); The patient's disease acceptance is negatively correlated with the dialysis symptom index (r=-0.242, P<0.01), psychological and emotional symptom group (r=-0.187, P<0.01), digestive symptom group (r=-0.209, P<0.01), and toxin metabolism disorder symptom group (r=-0.231, P<0.01). Linear regression analysis showed that age, educational level, per capita monthly household income, disease perception, perceived social support, dialysis symptom index, psychological and emotional symptom groups, gastrointestinal symptom groups, and toxin metabolism disorder symptom groups were the influencing factors of disease acceptance in MHD patients (P<0.01).
Conclusions
The disease acceptance of maintenance hemodialysis patients is at a low level and urgently needs to be improved. The patient's disease acceptance score is negatively correlated with their disease perception score, meaning that patients with more positive disease perception have higher disease acceptance; There is a positive correlation with the level of perceived social support, that is, patients with higher levels of perceived social support have higher disease acceptance; The influencing factors of disease acceptance include age, educational level, per capita monthly income of the family, disease perception, perceived social support, dialysis symptom index, psychological and emotional symptom group, gastrointestinal symptom group, and toxin metabolism disorder symptom group. Clinical medical personnel can develop intervention measures to improve the disease acceptance of MHD patients based on the above influencing factors.
