Delayed graft function (DGF) in kidney transplantation was associated with increased acute rejection, poor patient survival, and decreased graft survival. This study aims to analyze the association between delayed graft function with different donor source, different recipient factors, and different intraoperative hemodynamic parameters
Between 2019 and August 2023, 204 consecutive patients receiving kidney transplants at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital were enrolled and classified into DGF and non-DGF groups. Correlations between parameters in DGF group and non-DGF group were analyzed with Pearson's chi-squared test or the independent sample t test, depending on the variable type. A significance level of P = 0.05 was used for all the analyses regarded in this study.
The DGF group showed a longer operation time, longer cold ischemia time, lower graft artery flow, lower graft vein flow, higher body weight, and was more frequently associated with male sex, deceased donors, and recipients who underwent hemodialysis rather than peritoneal dialysis. There was no statistical difference in other intraoperative hemodynamic parameters. However, the non-DGF group tended to have a higher cardiac index (P = 0.077) and mean arterial pressure.
The results of several parameters associated with delayed graft function in this study were consistent with the conclusions of most previous studies. Further data analysis, including multivariate regression, will be conducted subsequently.
